Hello, Readers!
First of all, I want to apologize for the long silence here. I set out to post a short series of entries exploring the poetic influences behind ‘Fleeting Dreams’, and then let it just… fizzle. Not cool. I do intend to get those going again, but for the time being, I have a far more exciting announcement for you as a peace offering.

My very first novel, Quest for the Ivory Sword, is getting a second edition in recognition of its 10th anniversary!!

Technically speaking, that anniversary came and went about sixth months ago, but I encountered some unfortunate delays and complications during the publication process. Now, however, things are up an running again, and I’m expecting a proof copy of the new edition to arrive within the next week!

With this edition, I’ve crafted all-new illustrations, made some much-needed edits, written one or two bonus scenes, and made a few minor changes in order to lay the groundwork for the next big entry in the world of Talminia, which will be the Rise of Ralienah Saga. (Spoiler–there will be a sneak peak of the first book in in the RoR Saga at the end of Quest for the Ivory Sword!).

Going through my first novel and working to update it in this way has been a fun and nostalgic experience. At this point in time, reading my old material is like meeting an old friend, and recalling all the sweet memories I’d almost lost. I wanted to keep it as close to the original version as I could, while still giving it a fresh look and feel. Quest for the Ivory Sword was written by a much younger version of myself, who had a vision and a dream and who made it a reality, thanks to the generous help she received from her family and friends. So while my personal writing style and preferences have evolved over the years, I chose to respect that early vision, and preserve the work that my teenaged-self created, as it is the foundation for the projects I’ve been crafting ever since.

While Quest for the Ivory Sword is by no means a new book, I feel as excited to publish this edition as I was to do the first, all those years ago! I’m currently shooting for an early-to-mid spring release date. If you’re a new reader, I do hope you’ll give it a try when reaches the shelves.
